Samsung Refrigerator Repair
If your kitchen is the heart of your home, your refrigerator is the appliance that keeps it beating. A fridge that operates efficiently contributes to the well-being of you and your family. After all, what would family dinners be without the food that your fridge helps preserve?
When your fridge malfunctions, one of our appliance professionals can pinpoint the cause and fix the problem, so you and your family can continue with your daily routine. Here are some of the common issues we see.
Refrigerator Won’t Cool
Are you having an issue with your refrigerator cooling properly? The problem may be resolved with one of these DIY nonmechanical fixes:
- Be Patient: Did you know that it takes approximately 24 hours for the Samsung refrigerator to reach any new temperature that you set? If you’ve just programmed your fridge to achieve Samsung’s recommended temperature setting of 37 degrees, try waiting a day to see if it reaches the desired temperature. Be sure not to open your refrigerator too often during this time, as that will slow down the cooling process.
- Move Your Fridge: Is your refrigerator situated in an area that allows for two inches of space on all sides? Heat is released from your appliance in order to keep it cool. If the heat doesn’t have any place to travel, it will stay trapped near your fridge, which makes it work harder to stay cool.
- Rearrange Your Food: How crowded is your fridge? Make sure that your items are spaced out so that the cold air can circulate freely and evenly within the fridge. This doesn’t mean that you should rush to empty your refrigerator. Try keeping your fridge over halfway full to promote healthy ventilation.
- Reset Your Fridge: Samsung refrigerators sometimes need to be reset. Unplug your appliance, wait five minutes, and plug it back in. Your fridge should cool down within two hours.
If all of the above fails, contact your local Mr Appliance appliance for a diagnosis.
Doors Don’t Close Completely
The rubber seal around your refrigerator door allows it to close tightly so that air can’t penetrate. Examine this seal to see if it is damaged in any way.
If the freezer pullout door doesn’t close, there may be an issue with the index roller bar or the auto- close springs. A professional can quickly diagnose and fix this problem.
Water Pitcher Does Not Fill
If no water dispenses at all, check to make sure the water line is still connected and hooked up properly.
Also, check to see if the Child lock mode is turned on. If the Child lock is on, press and hold the Child lock button for more than 3 seconds to unlock.
If the water dispenser is not locked, try to push the select button of Water, Cubed Ice, or Crushed Ice. Finally, make sure that you have selected the button to dispense water. Some instructions may vary based on the model you have.
You should also check to see if the water tank is frozen due to the temperature setting being too low. If so, try to change the set temperature to a little warmer on the display.
One other troubleshooting step that can solve this issue is to take the pitcher out and reinstall it. Be sure to empty and drain the pitcher before reinstalling.
The refrigerator door must be closed in order for the autofill pitcher feature to work. If your door will not close, or if nothing else works to solve your problem, schedule an appointment online with one of our skilled professionals for Samsung appliance repair.
Leaks In or Around the Refrigerator
Where is your fridge leaking? The location of the leak will help identify the cause and possible solution.
If water is leaking from the autofill water pitcher or water filter, check to make sure that these parts aren’t cracked or damaged.
If the fridge itself is leaking, please request service from one of our appliance professionals. Depending on your model number, the solution could be as straightforward as leveling your refrigerator to as complex as testing and replacing an internal mechanism.
Samsung Washer Repair
Using your washing machine should be a convenience instead of a chore. Luckily, most washing machine issues are fixable. Below are some problems that you may run into with both top-load and front-load machines.
Buttons Don’t Work
Before calling an appliance professional, there are a few quick fixes you could try to get your buttons working again.
Are the display buttons lighting up? If so, skip to the next piece of advice. If they are not lighting up, check to make sure that your machine is plugged in and you have power to the machine.
Is the child lock activated? If so, this would prevent anyone from being able to operate the machine via its panel buttons.
Is the panel itself wet? Wait until it dries to try using it again.
Resetting your washer can also work. Unplug the appliance for a minute before trying to use the buttons again.
If none of these solutions solve the problem, give our appliance professionals a call!
Washing Machine is Leaking
A washing machine that is leaking is more than an inconvenience, it can cause damage to your home. Here are some of the common issues we see regarding a leaking washing machine.
When you want your clothes to smell fresher, it’s easy to think that adding more laundry detergent is the answer. Unfortunately, the combination of too many suds and water can cause your machine to leak. To avoid this issue, always use the suggested amount of detergent when washing clothes.
Is your appliance a front-loader? The washing machine pump filter may need to be cleaned. And while it’s normal for a small amount of water to drip from the door when it’s wet and open, if you notice a leak even when the door is closed, contact an appliance professional.
Drain hoses that are installed incorrectly or damaged can also cause your Samsung washing machine to leak. This issue can become even worse if your appliance isn’t properly leveled. If water appears to be leaking from the back of the washer, check the hose connection. Make sure it’s securely fastened and in good condition.
Water Isn’t Filling the Tub
Make sure that your drain hose is installed correctly, and your water supply hoses aren’t faulty. An appliance professional can determine whether or not your hoses need to be adjusted or replaced.
Bad Odour Coming from Appliance
The cause for this depends on what the odour smells like.
If you smell burning coming from your new Samsung washing machine, this is due to the coating on certain parts. The smell should disappear after the first few machine uses. If your washer is not new, or if the smell persists, you’ll need to get your appliance serviced by a professional.
Mold and mildew smells can usually be remedied by simply cleaning your washing machine on the self-clean cycle. For more details on how this is done, refer to your appliance manual.
Samsung Dryer Repair
Front-load and top-load dryers are both hot commodities, but this doesn’t mean that they’re immune to the occasional defect. Broken dryers leave you with wet clothes that can take days to dry. Instead of waiting for piles and piles of laundry to air dry, try the simple tips listed below.
Won’t Stop Spinning
If your dryer keeps tumbling even after the cycle is over, check your settings to see if “Wrinkle Prevent” is activated. This setting allows the dryer to spin without heat.
If Wrinkle Prevent is deactivated, try restarting your dryer. If pressing your power button does nothing, you’ll need to use the circuit breaker to reset the power to the machine.
If none of these solutions correct the problem, consider contacting a service professional.
Clothes Won’t Dry
If your dryer produces hot air, but your clothes still won’t dry, you could have a clogged vent.
A clean vent ensures that air is circulating properly. which allows your clothes to dry evenly. If the vent is clogged with lint or other debris, it will prevent your clothes from drying properly.
The moisture sensor tells your dryer when your clothes are dry, causing the dryer to automatically stop. If your clothes are dry, but the dryer is still spinning, the sensor may need to be replaced in order for your dryer to get an accurate reading on when to end the drying cycle.
Noise Coming from Dryer
Since Samsung dryers tend to be on the quiet side, it can be cause for concern when you hear strange noises coming from your Samsung appliance. The type of noise that you hear will help you get to the root of the problem.
- Rattling: A rattling sound indicates that the dryer may not be leveled. Make sure that the dryer is leveled evenly with the ground. This noise could also be indicative of a foreign object in the drum.
- Thumping: If you hear thumping while the dryer is working, it’s likely just your laundry load banging against the drum. However, if you think the noise isn’t due to the clothes tumbling around, contact your local Mr Appliance.
- Humming and buzzing: These sounds are natural and are typically caused by the blower motor, which should not be cause for concern.
Dryer is Leaking
In steam-dry units, water can leak from the water supply hose if it’s damaged in any way. In this case, the hose will need to be replaced. If it is not the hose, contact your local Mr Appliance for service.
Samsung Dishwasher Repair
When your dishwasher breaks down, dirty dishes can easily pile up, making the extra time spent cleaning dishes, pots, and pans frustrating. Stuck food particles are often at the root of many issues with dishwashers. Consider the problems below to see if any match what you are experiencing.
Doesn’t Clean Dishes
If your dishwasher doesn’t get your dishes as clean as you’d like, it could be due to bits of food getting stuck in the spray arms and filter assembly.
When this happens, water is not able to disburse as effectively, resulting in a less than satisfactory cleaning. Both parts will need to be unclogged and cleaned in order for the spray arm to function properly.
Appliance is Leaking
The first thing to check here would be the door seal. Does it close completely? Is it damaged in any way?
If your door seal doesn’t need to be replaced, the leaking may indicate a problem with the water inlet valve or drain hose.
Over time, dishwasher parts such as door seals and drain hoses can wear down. It’s possible that you may just need a replacement part to make your unit function as good as new.
Doesn’t Drain
To ensure proper drainage, the drain hose in your dishwasher should not be twisted or have any knots. Otherwise, there’s a chance that dirty dishwater could not be pumped out of your dishwasher.
Whether the problem is due to a faulty pump or defective hose, it’s best to have your local appliance professional diagnose and fix this problem to prevent reoccurrence.
Won’t Start
First, confirm that a tripped breaker isn’t interfering with the dishwasher’s power supply. If you have power to the appliance, try to reset your appliance (refer to your Samsung manual for instructions that are specific to your model).
You may also see an error code that identifies the issue. Your manual can give you more detail on what each specific error code means, and how to fix it.
Samsung Range, Stove, and Oven Repair
Your stove and oven are the heartbeats of your kitchen. When they malfunction, it can be extremely frustrating and a huge inconvenience. Repairing these appliances can either be an easy fix or require a more thorough investigation. Either way, Mr. Appliance is here to help.
Under Cooks or Over Cooks
Calibrating your oven should take care of this. Refer to the instructions in your appliance manual to ensure you’re doing this correctly.
Won’t Heat
Verify that you’re not in Demo mode — the display will show a “D” if you are. Once you’ve confirmed that you’re not in Demo mode, check to make sure your oven door isn’t open and automatically shutting off the heating element.
For gas ranges, test your oven by lighting a burner on the stove and then try to heat the oven again — note that both can be lit at the same time. If this doesn’t happen, you’ll need to call your local Mr Appliance and have one of our service professionals fix it for you.
If your oven still will not heat, contact one of our service professionals.
Heat on Cooktop Won’t Increase or Decrease
Chances are that the knobs are placed in the incorrect positions. To reconfigure them, use the directions printed on the knobs, along with your instruction manual.
Samsung Microwave Repair
Microwaves are convenient for heating or reheating food when cooking just isn’t an option. However, if you start to experience any of the defects mentioned below, it’s time to get your microwave repaired by a professional.
Faulty Vent Fan
Your microwave’s vent fan gets rid of steam. If it doesn’t appear to be strong enough, adjust the speed setting. If this doesn’t work, you’ll need to have it checked by a professional.
Turns On or Off by Itself
If your appliance is turning off on its own, it could be overheated. Wait 30 minutes to give it a chance to cool down.
If your microwave is turning on by itself, it is a fire hazard. Unplug it immediately and schedule an appointment to have someone come look at it.
