Refrigerator Won’t Cool

Are you having an issue with your refrigerator cooling properly? The problem may be resolved with one of these DIY nonmechanical fixes:

• Be Patient: Did you know that it takes approximately 24 hours for the Samsung refrigerator to reach any new temperature that you set? If you’ve just programmed your fridge to achieve Samsung’s recommended temperature setting of 37 degrees, try waiting a day to see if it reaches the desired temperature. Be sure not to open your refrigerator too often during this time, as that will slow down the cooling process.
• Move Your Fridge: Is your refrigerator situated in an area that allows for two inches of space on all sides? Heat is released from your appliance in order to keep it cool. If the heat doesn’t have any place to travel, it will stay trapped near your fridge, which makes it work harder to stay cool.
• Rearrange Your Food: How crowded is your fridge? Make sure that your items are spaced out so that the cold air can circulate freely and evenly within the fridge. This doesn’t mean that you should rush to empty your refrigerator. Try keeping your fridge over halfway full to promote healthy ventilation.
• Reset Your Fridge: Samsung refrigerators sometimes need to be reset. Unplug your appliance, wait five minutes, and plug it back in. Your fridge should cool down within two hours.

Doors Don’t Close Completely

The rubber seal around your refrigerator door allows it to close tightly so that air can’t penetrate. Examine this seal to see if it is damaged in any way.

If the freezer pullout door doesn’t close, there may be an issue with the index roller bar or the auto- close springs. A professional can quickly diagnose and fix this problem.

Water Pitcher Does Not Fill

If no water dispenses at all, check to make sure the water line is still connected and hooked up properly.

Also, check to see if the Child lock mode is turned on. If the Child lock is on, press and hold the Child lock button for more than 3 seconds to unlock.

If the water dispenser is not locked, try to push the select button of Water, Cubed Ice, or Crushed Ice. Finally, make sure that you have selected the button to dispense water. Some instructions may vary based on the model you have.

You should also check to see if the water tank is frozen due to the temperature setting being too low. If so, try to change the set temperature to a little warmer on the display.

One other troubleshooting step that can solve this issue is to take the pitcher out and reinstall it. Be sure to empty and drain the pitcher before reinstalling.

Leaks In or Around the Refrigerator

Washing Machine is Leaking

When you want your clothes to smell fresher, it’s easy to think that adding more laundry detergent is the answer. Unfortunately, the combination of too many suds and water can cause your machine to leak. To avoid this issue, always use the suggested amount of detergent when washing clothes.

Is your appliance a front-loader? The washing machine pump filter may need to be cleaned. And while it’s normal for a small amount of water to drip from the door when it’s wet and open, if you notice a leak even when the door is closed, contact an appliance professional.

Drain hoses that are installed incorrectly or damaged can also cause your Samsung washing machine to leak. This issue can become even worse if your appliance isn’t properly leveled. If water appears to be leaking from the back of the washer, check the hose connection. Make sure it’s securely fastened and in good condition.

Won’t Stop Spinning

If your dryer keeps tumbling even after the cycle is over, check your settings to see if “Wrinkle Prevent” is activated. This setting allows the dryer to spin without heat.

If Wrinkle Prevent is deactivated, try restarting your dryer. If pressing your power button does nothing, you’ll need to use the circuit breaker to reset the power to the machine.

Clothes Won’t Dry

If your dryer produces hot air, but your clothes still won’t dry, you could have a clogged vent.

A clean vent ensures that air is circulating properly. which allows your clothes to dry evenly. If the vent is clogged with lint or other debris, it will prevent your clothes from drying properly.

The moisture sensor tells your dryer when your clothes are dry, causing the dryer to automatically stop. If your clothes are dry, but the dryer is still spinning, the sensor may need to be replaced in order for your dryer to get an accurate reading on when to end the drying cycle.

Noise Coming from Dryer

Since Samsung dryers tend to be on the quiet side, it can be cause for concern when you hear strange noises coming from your Samsung appliance. The type of noise that you hear will help you get to the root of the problem.

• Rattling: A rattling sound indicates that the dryer may not be leveled. Make sure that the dryer is leveled evenly with the ground. This noise could also be indicative of a foreign object in the drum.

When this happens, water is not able to disburse as effectively, resulting in a less than satisfactory cleaning. Both parts will need to be unclogged and cleaned in order for the spray arm to function properly.

Appliance is Leaking

The first thing to check here would be the door seal. Does it close completely? Is it damaged in any way?

If your door seal doesn’t need to be replaced, the leaking may indicate a problem with the water inlet valve or drain hose.

Over time, dishwasher parts such as door seals and drain hoses can wear down. It’s possible that you may just need a replacement part to make your unit function as good as new.

Doesn’t Drain

To ensure proper drainage, the drain hose in your dishwasher should not be twisted or have any knots. Otherwise, there’s a chance that dirty dishwater could not be pumped out of your dishwasher.

Won’t Start

First, confirm that a tripped breaker isn’t interfering with the dishwasher’s power supply. If you have power to the appliance, try to reset your appliance (refer to your Samsung manual for instructions that are specific to your model).
